Pupil Premium Grant at Landewednack School
Pupil premium is an amount of money, which is given to the school in addition to our main budget allocation. It is calculated by using the following factors:
- The number of children who have ever been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) during the last 6 years
- Children whose parents are serving in the armed forces (to address the emotional and social wellbeing of these children)
- Children who are, or have been ‘Looked After’ (in care)
If you think you are eligible for any of the above, please do contact us landewednack@tpacademytrust.org as this will enable us to receive additional funding which we can use to support your child. This funding may include one or more of the following: money off residentials, trips, uniform, clubs or music lessons. Free School Meals
Free school meals are available to some children according to family income. It’s important to register for entitlement to free school meals, even if your child has a packed lunch – this is so we can receive additional funding which we can use to help your child.
If you think your child is entitled to free school meals, you’ll usually need to fill in an application form supplied by your local council. Return the completed application form to us at school and make sure you can show documentary proof of any support you are receiving. Click below for a link to the application form:
Service Families
We request this information on entry and run updates every few years, could we please ask you to confirm with us if you fit the current Service personnel criteria (see below) either by letter or via email to landewednack@tpacademytrust.org
- one of their parents is serving in the regular armed forces
- one of their parents served in the regular armed forces in the last 3 years
- one of their parents died while serving in the armed forces and the pupil is in receipt of a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS) and the War Pensions Scheme (WPS) (This will be submitted by the MoD on your behalf).
Children Adopted from Care
Since 2014 funding is available to support children adopted from care in their school education.
Children will be eligible if they have:
- left care under a Residence Order on or after 14 October 1991 (under the Children Act 1989)
- left care under a Special Guardianship Order on or after 30 December 2005 (under the Children Act 1989)
- been adopted from care (under the Adoption and Children Act 2002);
